  Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah has commissioned an asphalt production plant built by his administration In furtherance of his campaign promise to construct 10,000 roads in eight years. Inaugurating the plant Thursday, Mbah said the state would also produce the inputs for asphalt production, noting these moves would drastically reduce the cost of road construction for the state. “The asphalt production plant is designed to produce 160 tons of asphalt per hour,” he said. “For context, it will produce 2.5 tons every minute and 160 tons per hour,”. The  Nigerian Immigration Service  (NIS) has deported Mr. Eben K. Nhiwatawi, a Zimbabwean bishop, due to his violation of the conditions attached to his tourist visa. The action was taken after it was discovered that Nhiwatawi, who entered Nigeria on August 21, 2024, was involved in a Methodist Church leadership election in Yola, Adamawa State. This activity was in clear violation of the terms of his Tourist Visa (F5A), which only permits tourism-related activities. The decision to deport the bishop was communicated by KT Udo, the Service Public Relations Officer, in a statement released from the NIS Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
